BIO

Daisy Beiler Townsend
Perhaps it isn’t strange that I’ve wanted to be a writer ever since I was a little girl because I have published writers on both sides of my family, as well as an older sister who is a published writer.  The first story I wrote as an adult was published in 1981 in a children’s Sunday School paper (see Through the Years Scrapbook).
Since then my work has been published more than eighty times in magazine such as Guideposts, The Upper Room, The Secret Place, New Man, Christian Home, and many other Christian periodicals.  In 2014 I published Homespun Faith, an autobiographical compilation of devotionals that I’ve written through the years, another dream fulfilled.  I’ve now published book one, two and three of the Sarah’s Legacy series, Christian historical fiction set in Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania, and am working on book four. I love sharing my Homespun Faith journey and doing book signings.
In addition to writing and speaking, I did counseling for many years as a Pastoral Counselor, certified with the National Christian Counselors Association and ordained by the National Conservative Christian Church as a Minister of Counseling.
My husband, Donn, and I have been married 50 years and served as missionaries in Japan with One Mission Society for a total of four years, besides five other short-term mission trips to Japan, between 2001-2011.
We have three wonderful children and six gorgeous grandchildren and live in Greenville, Pennsylvania.   I’ve lived in Pennsylvania most of my married life but was raised in Grantsville, Maryland.
