At Fresh Grounds Maker’s Market on November 25, 2022, Charles Mazurkewiz came to our book table. He told me he’d read all my books and had something he thought I’d like to see. He placed an old-fashioned baby book on the table, open to the page titled Today I Came Into The World. I became so excited when I saw Dr. Cooley’s name given as the doctor who had delivered Charles! I knew Dr. Cooley had delivered many babies in his day, but I had never met anyone whom he had delivered. I’ve never heard a bad word spoken about Judson Cooley and wish I could have known him. Dolores Drew tells how Dr. Cooley came to change her brother’s bandages every day when he had been badly burned.
